Director of Project Management – Buffalo

Gelia is seeking a Director of Project Management for our Buffalo office.

Gelia – a marketing, communications, and advertising agency with offices in Buffalo, Raleigh, NC, Toledo, and Peoria is seeking candidates for a Director of Project Management in our Buffalo office.

We are seeking a director to oversee and lead our Project Management team. Project Management oversees day-to-day project workflow on a variety of multi-channel digital and traditional projects, providing the “glue” that keep projects — and cross-functional teams — together and moving forward.

The Director of Project Management is an important position within Gelia requiring the management of a team that develops estimates, assigns resources, sets task schedules, oversees implementation, tracks progress and addresses unanticipated events to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.

As Director of Project Management, you will collaborate with the leadership of Account Service, Creative, Media, Public Relations, Digital and Analytics and play a leading role in the direction of our project management strategy and philosophy.  This person will have the opportunity to manage and lead this team and drive continuous improvement in transparency, agility and automation.

 What do we require from you?

Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop and negotiate statements of work for client projects as well as sourcing third party relationships as required.

Work with other directors and leadership to develop, revise, implement and manage the role of an agile and resourceful project management team.

Recommend new technologies, strategic opportunities and partnerships that will support a best-in-class project management solution.

Lead the sourcing of potential new agency relationships through a formalized RFP process on through negotiations and the setting of terms and conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

College degree (BA/BS)

5 to 7 years of experience in project and process management including at least 3 years in a team leadership role, preferably at a full service ad agency, interactive agency, in-house agency or media-buying agency.

Ability to think and react quickly, with a proven track record of managing multiple daily tasks along with longer-term project goals.

Strong people leadership coupled with business acumen, and the ability to schedule and complete projects based on business requirements.

Working knowledge of agency operations with strong personal bent towards automation, process standardization and efficiency.

Solid time and cost management skills; take ownership of your work and execute like a partner in the business.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
